Read More	Monticello Express, Monticello, Jones Co., IA February 5, 1903 CORRESPONDENCE Death of Mrs. John Krouse. Jane E. Wasson Krouse was born the 7th day of December, 1843, in Oswego, N. Y. She came with her parents to lowa when she was a child of 10 years, and spent her life in this locality. She was married to John G. Krouse the llth day of March, 1868, and departed this life the 1st day of February, 1903 being 59 years, 1 month and 24 days old. Mr. and Mrs. Krouse were blessed with four children, namely, John, who is sta- tion agent for the G. & N. W. R. R. at Monmouth; William, who is in business at Wyoming; Mabel, a lovely daughter who died in 1890, and Daisy, a successful Jones county teacher. Mrs. Krouse's brothers and sisters who survive her are William of Kansas, Jo- seph of Onslow, Mrs. Chas. Gridley of Wyoming and Mra. David Sim of Onslow. Mrs. Krouse in her girlhood days was a popular Jones county teacher, hav- ing spent seven years in the profession. She united with the Presbyterian church when she was seventeen years of age and continued a most worthy member through life. She had been in poor health during the last year, and knew her time on earth would be brief, but she was calm and perfectly resigned, performing her house. It would, perhaps, be impossible to greatly exaggerate Mrs. Krouse's virtues. She was not a demonstrative woman, attracting attention by some unusual act or word, but kind hearted, wise in counsel and constant in her friendship. She was held in the highest esteem by her neighbors and friends, loved by her kindred and adored by her husband and children. Her death is a loss to all, but an irreparable loss to the children and now lonely husband. They have the consolation of a happy life together in this world, and the hope of a life of uninterrupted happiness in a better world. May this hope be realized. The funeral services were conducted in the Onslow Presbyterian church by her late pastor, J. R. McQuown. The sermon, by request, was founded on John 14: 1, "Let not your hearts be troubled," etc. The music was furnished by a select choir consisting of Mrs. M» M. Franks, organist, and Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt and Mr. Sinclair of Scotch Grove, Rob't Corbit of Clarence, Mrs. Ethel Chase Bates and the Misses Ruth Spooner, Stella Mc- Quown, Jennie Streeper and Anna Streeper. The pall bearers were Messrs. Wm. Corbit, Alexander, Young, Norris, Atwood and Hankens. The interment was in the Wyoming cemetery. The church was nicely decorated and the flowers accompanying the elegant casket were beautiful.
