Jane was born on November 22, 1923 to Herman and Hanna (Alvenes) Holt on the family farm in Gladstone Township, LaMoure County, 2½ miles west of Benson Corner. Read More	Jane Zimbelman, 92, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Oakes, ND, passed away January 13, 2016 at Bethany on 42nd, Fargo, ND. Jane was born on November 22, 1923 to Herman and Hanna (Alvenes) Holt on the family farm in Gladstone Township, LaMoure County, 2½ miles west of Benson Corner. She was baptized and confirmed in High Prairie Lutheran Church at Benson Corner. She attended rural country school through the 8th grade and graduated from LaMoure High School in 1941. In the fall of that year, Jane went with her aunt to Chicago where she worked in a bakery. She returned to ND in the spring of 1942 and was employed in the Fairway Grocery Store in LaMoure, ND. Jane and Herman Zimbelman were married on April 22, 1945. To this union six children were born, Janet, Michael, Dale, Linda, Scott and Brenda. In the fall of 1978, they sold the farm and moved to Oakes, where she continued working for the Good Samaritan Society for the next 13 years. Herman passed away on February 12, 1987. Jane continued to live in Oakes until 2009 when she moved to Fargo. Jane was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and WELCA. She was also a lifetime member of the Oakes Legion Auxiliary, a member of the Oakes Senior Citizen Club, and a one-time member of the Nutritional program of Dickey County. After retiring in 1991 from the Good Samaritan Society, Jane volunteered at the nursing home, church and the senior center. Jane loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed seeing them whenever she could and always wanted to know what they were doing. She is survived by two daughters, Janet (Arlen) Willprecht and Linda (Dan) Jacobson; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Herman, three sons, Michael, Dale and Scott, daughter Brenda, and two sisters, Ethel Holt and Harriet Rasmusson. Funeral was held Monday, January 18, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church, Oakes, ND. Burial at Maple View Cemetery, Fullerton, ND.
