Born Oct. 23, 1914, in Williamsport, Md., she was the daughter of the late Norman Benjamin and Pearl Elizabeth Brubaker Sterling. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul A. Grossnickle, in 1947. She was a member of West End Baptist Chapel in Hagerstown. She attended services at Homewood Chapel in Martinsburg. Born Oct. 23, 1914, in Williamsport, Md., she was the daughter of the late Norman Benjamin and Pearl Elizabeth Brubaker Sterling. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul A. Grossnickle, in 1947. She was a member of West End Baptist Chapel in Hagerstown. She attended services at Homewood Chapel in Martinsburg. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, sewing and caring for her family, which included numerous pets. Survivors include her husband, Carl Randolph Springer, whom she married Aug. 9, 1952 of Martinsburg; son, Wayne Grossnickle and his wife, Patty Grossnickle, of Hagerstown; son, Earl R. Springer and his wife, Sheila Springer, of Martinsburg; stepson, Randolph C. Springer of Greenbelt, Md.; sister, Mary Mills of Laureldale, Pa.; sister, Nora Moser of Boonsboro; sister, Betty Burger of Hagerstown; also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and her dog, Lucky. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Martin and Mae Baker; and three brothers, Lee Sterling, Norman Sterling and Ralph Sterling. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Md. at 11 a.m. with the Rev. S. Shane Wilt officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, from 10 to 11 a.m., one hour prior to the funeral service. The funeral home also will open Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, from noon to 5 p.m. for the convenience of family and friends. The family requests the omission of flowers; memorial donations may be made to West End Baptist Chapel, 101 Buena Vista Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740; Homewood Chapel, 430 S.
