Read More	In Memory of Jane Majoney Neal March 29, 1939 ~ March 2, 2017 Jane Mahoney Neal, 77, of Lincoln, passed away on March 2, 2017, surrounded by her family. Jane was born March 29, 1939, in Lincoln, the daughter of James P. and Davise Mahoney. She was a proud graduate of Pius X High School, in 1957 and from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, in 1963 and 1971. Jane was a lifetime teacher, spending over 30 years as the media specialist at Goodrich Junior High and Middle School, serving on countless committees for the district, and working as an active member of the Lincoln Education Association. Even after retirement, friends and family could always count on Jane contacting them with the name of a good book, an interesting article, or a reminder about an important political event coming up on TV. Jane was very active in her parish, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, serving on many committees and filling many roles. Jane served on the board of the Pink Sister Auxillary and was a tireless community volunteer. Her entire life was spent in service to others. As she was preparing to go into surgery, she shared with family, "I love you. Today is a good day, and tomorrow will be better." The family wishes to share her expression of love and optimism with everyone. Survivors include: daughters, Jeanie Neal and Jo Ellen (John) Parkey; son, John (Ann) Neal; grandchildren, Jared (Ashley) Parkey, Jason Neal, Ryane Neal, Jamie Parkey, and Jack Parkey; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: son, Robert; daughter, Jennifer; and parents. Funeral service on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lincoln. Internment at Calvary Cemetery.
