Description	:	Mrs. Jane Maria McDermott, 87, resident of Platte County for 59 years, who resided at 1972 Twenty seventh avenue, died at 8:15 am today at her home. She was first taken ill last Dec. 14, when she suffered a heart attack, and spent three weeks in the hospital. Returning to her home, she recovered and was able to be around her home each day. Ten days ago, she suffered another attack, which rendered her bedfast until her death. Jane Marie Donohue, the daughter of Ed and Mary Donohue, was born Mar. 7, 1851, at New Diggens, Wis., where she grew to womanhood. There she was married to James McDermott, Feb. 18, 1879, and soon after they came to Nebraska to make their home. They spent a month in Columbus, before locating on a farm 2 1/2 miles northwest of Humphrey. They remained on that farm until 1907 when they retired and moved to Columbus. Since then, her home was here. Mr. McDermott died here Oct. 2, 1920. She was a devout member of ST. Bonaventure's church, and during her younger years took an active part in church activities. Surviving are four sons, Barney of Humphrey, Edward C. and George F. of Omaha, and John J. of Madison; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Stenger of Lynch, Mrs. Lydia Regan of Madison, and Miss Kate McDermott at home; 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am Monday at St. Bonaventure's Catholic church with Rev. Fr. Athanase, pastor, officiating. Burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery.
