Description	:	Janet Christensen was born on June 23, 1934 near Monowi, Nebraska. Janet grew up on a farm and graduated from Lynch High School in 1951. She was a school teacher at Rosedale after high school. She married Reg Pinkerman on May 14, 1953 and joined him in Alaska, where he was stationed with the U.S. Army. Read More	Janet Christensen was born on June 23, 1934 near Monowi, Nebraska. Janet grew up on a farm and graduated from Lynch High School in 1951. She was a school teacher at Rosedale after high school. She married Reg Pinkerman on May 14, 1953 and joined him in Alaska, where he was stationed with the U.S. Army. Their first son, Wes, was born in Anchorage. After Reg's time in the army, they moved to Omaha, where Janet worked at Sears. They then moved to O'Neill and eventually started a business, Pinkerman TV, from which they retired in 1991. During their time in O'Neill, two more sons were born, Marty and Jeff. Janet was active in the community. She was co-chair of the Meals on Wheels program for many years. She served two terms on the O'Neill Public School Board. She was an avid golfer, and a member of O'Neill Country Club for over 30 years. Like the rest of her family, she loved baseball, and was a fixture on the bench for the youth teams that her husband coached, keeping the scorebook while utilizing her training as a schoolteacher to keep the players in line. The family enjoyed many weekends camping, fishing and riding motorcycles at a farm site near where Reg grew up. In the latter years of the family business, Reg and Janet enjoyed several trips to Arizona, which led them to purchase a home there after retirement. They spent winters there for roughly 20 years, and made many new friends. One of Janet's favorite things to do was prepare large meals and then distribute portions to some of the elderly residents in their neighborhood.
