She was born in Scotland June 23, 1827. Read More	Born in Scotland Wife of Robert Young The following is courtesy of Cindy Walcott: Mrs Janet [Donald] Young, who has been in failing health for some time, died quite suddenly of heart failure on May 21st at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Urie. She was born in Scotland June 23, 1827. She married Robert Young in 1853, and to them were born nine children, seven of whom are living: Will of Hardwick, John of New York City, George, James and Mrs. John Armour Urie of Glover, Robert of Craftsbury, and Mrs. James Urie of this place. Mr. and Mrs. Young left Scotland in 1865 and resided in Canada for nine months, not coming to the States on account of the war. Here two of their children died having contracted scarlet fever on the ship. They then moved to Glover, living there until about nine years ago, when they left their farm and came to their pretty home in our village. Mrs. young was a faithful member of the Reformed Presbyterian church of East Craftsbury and attended services as long as her health permitted. She was of such a cheerful disposition that it was a pleasure to go into her home, and she bore her last sufferings with Christian resignation.. Reverend N.L. Heidger conducted the funeral services, at which a large company of relatives and friends assembled to pay their last respects, and the interment was in the Glover cemetery. Much sympathy is felt for Mr. Young and the other members of the family. [Orleans County Monitor, 1 June 1908]
