Burnett, 89, a 56-year resident of Twenty-Five Mile Creek, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 1994, in Central Washington Hospital following an extended illness. She was born June 4, 1905, to Joseph L. and Margaret (Irons) Ritter, at Butler, Pa. At an early age, she moved with her family to Seattle, where she attended school, graduating from West Seattle High School. After graduation, she served as postmaster at Three Tree Point, which is now Burien. She married Hugh W. Burnett on April 29, 1929, at Seattle. They made their home in Chehalis before moving to Aberdeen. They moved to Wenatchee in 1934, and then to Twenty-Five Mile Creek in 1938, where they owned and operated their own orchard. Mrs. Burnett was a member of the Christian Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution University of Washington Chapter and the Twenty-Five Mile Creek Grange. She is survived by her husband, of Twenty-Five Mile Creek; a son, Joe of Twenty-Five Mile Creek; a brother, Edgar of Salem, Ore.; a sister, Margaret Rice of Ellensburg; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons. Arrangements are by Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan. Note: Her mother's middle name was Irons, last name Shannon.
