Janet was born on September 10, 1942, in rural Chelsea the daughter of Leo and Esther (Ledvina) Hanson. She attended country school and graduated from Brooklyn High School. On October 14, 1961, Janet married Robert Raue at the Chelsea Methodist Church. They raised their family and farmed in rural Chelsea. Read More	Janet Lee Raue, 78, of Chelsea, Iowa, died on August 13, 2021, at Brooklyn Community Estate, Brooklyn, Iowa. Janet was born on September 10, 1942, in rural Chelsea the daughter of Leo and Esther (Ledvina) Hanson. She attended country school and graduated from Brooklyn High School. On October 14, 1961, Janet married Robert Raue at the Chelsea Methodist Church. They raised their family and farmed in rural Chelsea. As her children grew older, she worked for Brooklyn Community Estate as a cook and aide for over 20 years before she retired. Janet enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, and making many Kolaches to share. She loved spending time with Bob camping and traveling on bus trips, and most of all being with family. Janet was very active in her community through the Chelsea Community Club, Rural Neighbors, Red Hat Society, and several other women's groups. She was a member of the Chelsea United Methodist Church, most recently attending Kent Church in Brooklyn. Janet is survived by her children, Robert (Debbie) Raue of Toledo, Iowa, Scott (Angie) Raue of Walford, Kenneth Raue of Chelsea and Helen (Matt) Elsbury of Brooklyn; daughter-in-law, Tara Raue of Fremont, Nebraska; Leo (Jean) Hanson of Fremont, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and her dog, Daisy. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert; and son, Duane Raue. Service at the Kent Church in rural Brooklyn, Iowa, Pastor Dorothy Banzhaf officiating.
