Description	:	Janet Margaret Cason, of Loveland Colo., passed away at the age of 81, peacefully at twilight on May 13, 2017, to move on to her next grand adventure where she will be joined by beloved family, friends and a few pets. Read More	Janet Margaret Cason, of Loveland Colo., passed away at the age of 81, peacefully at twilight on May 13, 2017, to move on to her next grand adventure where she will be joined by beloved family, friends and a few pets. Her family was at her bedside. Janet was born on Nov. 22, 1936, in Scribner, Neb., to Louis Spath and Margaret Mareel. Janet lived in Fremont for most of her formative years doing a brief stint in Washington with family for the war effort. After making her way back to Nebraska she graduated from high school, the home of the Fremont Fighting Tigers, in 1954. Janet was a go-getter and a wearer of bobby socks, twin sweater sets and a rather popular girl. While in high school she met the love of her life, best friend and confidant on a blind date, Gary Cason. After Gary graduated from Navy boot camp they married in Fremont, Neb., in November 1954. Gary and Janet moved to San Diego, where Gary was stationed with the Navy for four years and there they stayed until an economic downturn in California which left Gary without a job and Janet with three small children. They both decided that working for others was not for them and moved to Colorado for long and successful careers as entrepreneurs and business owners. In 1964, Janet and Gary opened their first business venture, the Spudnut Shop on Lincoln Ave. in Loveland. After having their fill of Spudnuts, they purchased Westlake Norge Village Laundromat and Greenbrier Cleaners, after their success they also opened Golden Tough Cleaner and Fisher Shirt Laundry. In 1974 Janet wanted to try her hand at real estate, understanding that Loveland was a great place to live and thrive. She worked for a few real estate companies then decided that she wanted to be on her own. She bought Tandem Realty and was broker/owner. She received a nice offer from the then, new company, Group Inc. where she worked until Janet and Gary retired in 2003. After retirement they decided that their new lives would be on the road in their RV. They enjoyed many adventures to Alaska, Canada, Arkansas and the American Southwest. Janet and Gary enjoyed camping, fishing, visiting with friends. Mixed in with that travel were trips to Mexico, Tahiti, Hawaii and Costa Rica (some of their favorites) and of course Nebraska. Janet loved her family enjoying time spent with her children and grandchildren. She considered herself truly blessed. Survivors include a daughter, two sons, two daughters-in-law, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews [survivor's names omitted]. Janet was preceded in death by husband, Gary; mother and father, Margaret (Mareel) Spath and Louis Spath; mother- and father-in-law, Wendell Cason and Marguerite (Moore) Cason; sister and brother-in-law, June and Lowell Mattson; and grandson, Andrew. Funeral services will be held at Viegut Funeral Home on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at 11:30am with viewing beginning at 9:00am. Cremation will be completed following services with private inurnment at Loveland Burial Park.--Viegut Funeral Home
