She was born on May 25, 1940, in Iowa City, daughter of Edward and Martha (Feldman) Farni. She married Lloyd Decker on Nov. 29, 1958, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Dubuque. She received her education at St. Mary's School and was a graduate of the former Immaculate Conception Academy in Dubuque. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Balltown. Surviving are her husband, Lloyd Decker, of Balltown; two daughters, Debbie (Bernie) Reiff, of Farley, and Doris (Larry) Roeth, of Dubuque; a son, Dennis (Pam Zillig) Decker, of Dubuque; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Jacob and Bobbi Jo Reiff, Justin Otto and Michael, Sam and Amanda Roeth; four sisters, Doris (Ken) Schueller and Rita Dunn, both of Denver, Dorothy (Ray) Paulus, of California, and Bette Lou Bell, of East Dubuque, Ill.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill Cox and Theresa Farni, both of Key West, Frank Donovan, of California, Edith Decker and Ann Mae (Don) Brimeyer, both of Dubuque, Alvin (Mary) Decker, of Sherrill, and Lois (Pat) Decker, of Rickardsville; and her best friend, Betty Hefel, of Balltown. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald, on Sept. 9, 1981; her parents; two brothers, Harold and Jim Farni; two sisters, Mabel Donovan and Eileen Cox; a brother-in-law, Raymond Decker; and a sister-in-law, Delores Decker. A Janice K. Decker Memorial Fund has been established. The family of Janice would like to thank the staff of the Gannon Center and Hospice of Dubuque for all the kindness and care given to Janice and their family.
