Description	:	Janice 'Jan' Lorraine Lampshire, the daughter of Walter and Hazel (Carlson) Carlson, was born in Benedict, Nebraska, on August 22, 1939, and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska, on December 2, 2012, at the age of 73. She grew up in Polk and attended Polk Elementary. Jan graduated from Polk High School. While in high school Jan was a baton twirler, played Elvis in the school play, sang in Triple Trio and played saxophone in the band. Read More	Janice 'Jan' Lorraine Lampshire, the daughter of Walter and Hazel (Carlson) Carlson, was born in Benedict, Nebraska, on August 22, 1939, and passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska, on December 2, 2012, at the age of 73. She grew up in Polk and attended Polk Elementary. Jan graduated from Polk High School. While in high school Jan was a baton twirler, played Elvis in the school play, sang in Triple Trio and played saxophone in the band. She worked at the Polk Movie Theatre and as the office manager for Dr. Blodig in Osceola. Jan enjoyed a beautiful marriage to Merlyn Lampshire for 53 years. They were married on August 2, 1959 in Polk. They lived in Aurora for the first three years of their marriage. In 1962, they moved to Holdrege and later to Minden in 1979. She belonged to First Christian Church, when they lived in Aurora; the First Baptist Church while living in Holdrege and the First United Methodist Church in Minden. Jan owned a small business called Tiny Treasures, where she made Santas and other craft items. Jan served as State Secretary for the JC's and was a volunteer at the Holdrege Hospital gift shop. They moved to Lincoln 13 years ago to be closer to their children. Jan enjoyed animals, gardening, sewing and refinishing furniture. She also loved camping and boating with her family. She was a member of the Square Dance club in Minden and the local Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Roberta Beins. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Merlyn of Lincoln; sister, Corinne Adelson of Polk; two daughters, Debra Lampshire of Omaha and Stacey Lampshire Haney and husband Chad Haney of Lincoln; son, Mike Lampshire and wife Becky Lampshire of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; 5 grandchildren, Camden & Braden Haney of Lincoln and Aaron, Evan & Quinn Lampshire of Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
