Interment in Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Janice the daughter of Frank and Ellen (Beck) Cronin was born on September 28, 1940, in Decorah, Iowa, at her parents home. She was raised in Decorah attending St. Benedict's Catholic School, graduating from DeSales High School in 1959. Janice attended business School in Omaha, Nebraska, before moving to New York for one year to work in a business office. She returned to Decorah before moving to Marshalltown in 1965 with her sister Eleanor Moody making Marshalltown their home. Janice worked for St. Henry's Church for several years until 1984, when she was hired by the Iowa Veterans Home in the linen room until retiring in 2003. Our Mother was more than just a mother, she was also our father, our best friend. She worked vigorously to provide for her family all through her years. She loved dearly and will be missed greatly for years to come. Janice is survived by her six children; Michael (Trudy) Cronin, James Cronin, Julie Anderson, Donna Cronin, Karla Eslinger, and Rhonda Cronin; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two nieces that she cherished like daughters, Joyce (Jack) Tompkins, and Debra Cronin; one brother; Robert (Ila) Cronin of Waterloo; two sisters-in-law Sally Cronin of Omaha, and Angene Cronin of Waterloo; many nieces and nephews; and her best friend for life Sue Ferris. She was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Kenneth and Cassie Anderson, her parents Frank and Ellen Cronin; siblings Grace (Norman) Vikre, Eleanor Moody, Patsy (David) Graham, Gladys (Allyn) Mincks, Marjorie (Leslie) Mincks, Joseph Cronin, and Francis Cronin. Cronin on Friday, March 12 at St. Francis of Assisi-St. Henry Church in Marshalltown, Iowa with the Rev. Father Alan Dietzenbach officiating. Music was provided by organist Marilyn Spafford and vocalist Karen Mroz. Pallbearers were Christopher Anderson, Brandon Kail, Cameron Cronin, Marcus Cronin, Javon Lewis, and Tyler Eslinger.
