Description	:	Janice Marilyn Sarsfield was born in The Dalles, Oregon on July 28, 1931 and entered into the loving arms of Jesus on July 30, 2018. She was the first of two daughters of Clarence and LaVelle Sperry. Educated mostly in Seattle, she graduated from Thorpe High School and later she received a scholarship to the Sisters of Providence School of Nursing in Portland, where she graduated in 1952. She married William (Bill) Sarsfield on August 8, 1953 in Goldendale and they moved to Seattle. There they had their three children, William (Pat), Maureen, and Theresa. Twenty years later they decided... Read More	Janice Marilyn Sarsfield was born in The Dalles, Oregon on July 28, 1931 and entered into the loving arms of Jesus on July 30, 2018. She was the first of two daughters of Clarence and LaVelle Sperry. Educated mostly in Seattle, she graduated from Thorpe High School and later she received a scholarship to the Sisters of Providence School of Nursing in Portland, where she graduated in 1952. She married William (Bill) Sarsfield on August 8, 1953 in Goldendale and they moved to Seattle. There they had their three children, William (Pat), Maureen, and Theresa. Twenty years later they decided to move to the Yakima Valley and bought a farm in White Swan. At that time Janice started work at St. Elizabeth Hospital and stayed there until her retirement in 1993. She loved music and art in any form, and was devoted to her family. An active member of St. Mary’s Parish in White Swan, she was a woman of deep faith which permeated her daily life. She is survived by her children Pat (Lola) Sarsfield, Theresa (Mike) St. Hilaire, son-in-law Bradley Morford, and her sister Sharon Hill (Stanley Hughes). In addition, she leaves behind grandchildren Patricia, William (Carrie), Megan, and Anthony Sarsfield, Theresa (Stanley) Neilson, Michael, Elizabeth and Madeleine St. Hilaire, great-grandchildren Patrick Sarsfield, Austin, Fred, and Steven Neilson, nieces Jackie, Joy, and nephew, John. She was preceded in death by William Sarsfield and daughter Maureen Morford. Prayer of the Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday Aug. 3rd at St. Mary’s Parish White Swan, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4th, also at St. Mary’s with reception following. The family would like to give a special thanks to Astria Hospice for their wonderful care during mom’s final weeks of life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Mary’s Building Fund.
