Jarmila Pokomy was bom Jan. 19, 1918, in Wahoo. She attended District 44 school in rural Saunders County. She worked as a domestic helper in an Omaha household. She married Floyd Schlotman Feb. 25, 1940, at Czech Presbyterian Church in rural Wahoo. She was a homemaker and worked at Valparaiso Public School from 1963-71. She lived in Wilber Care Center in Wilber from 1996 until 2000 when she moved to Sundermann Home. She was a member of Womens Club and United Methodist Church, both of Valparaiso, where she held many offices, such as pianist and taught Sunday and Bible SchooL Survivors include: a son. Grant (and wife, Diane) Schlotman of Milford; three daughters, Vlasta (Mrs. Bemie) Bovee of Copper Mountain, Colo., Iris Schlotman of Leadville, Colo, and Janelle (Mrs. Phil) Kopp of Frisco, Colo.; a brother, Reuben (and wife, Marge) Pokomy of Wahoo; two sisters, Mildred Benson of Fremont and Vera (Mrs. Ray) Divis of Beaver Crossing; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. The Rev. Dayne Zachrison will officiate Mondays service. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 4-6 p.m., Sunday at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Valparaiso Cemetery.
