Description	:	Jerry Bartak Passes Following Long Illness Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon for Jerry Bartak at the municipal hall with the Rev. Adolph Lillich, pastor of the Zion Lutheran church, officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wm. and Joe Fuchtman, John Meyer, Ray Paesl, Leo Stortz and Lawrence Holmes. Military honors were conducted at the cemetery by members of the VFW and American Legion posts. Jaroslav Bartak, son of Joseph and Anna Bartak, was born at Cirkovice, Czechoslovakia on Jan. 5, 1889. He came to the United States at the age of 19 with a friend. He was employed on farms around Beemer for a while. Later he went to Winner, S.D. where he was employed in a butcher shop. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Kubal of Herrick S.D. on Aug. 15, 1917. To this union six children were born, all of whom survive him. He served his country in WWI and was about to go overseas, when the war ended. In 1929 he moved with his family to near Creighton, where he farmed. Since 1942 he lived on the farm east of Creighton, which was his home at the time of his death. Surviving are his wife, Mary; four sons, Leonard, Raymond, Lumer and Arnold, all of Creighton; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Westerman and Irene Bartak of Creighton; one brother, Joseph Bartak of Buhl, Idaho; one sister, Mary Hendrick of Brno, Czechoslovakia and eight grandchildren.
