Description	:	Jason Holland Reeder passed away at his home in Denver, October 25 at 4:15 p. m., aged 81 years, 4 mouths, and 4 days. Mr. Reeder for some years past had been in rather poor health. Read More	Jason Holland Reeder passed away at his home in Denver, October 25 at 4:15 p. m., aged 81 years, 4 mouths, and 4 days. Mr. Reeder for some years past had been in rather poor health. Two years ago he and his wife went to Denver hoping that it might improve his health. There he lived with his children. Last July he and his wife returned to Salem thinking the old home might revive him; and for a time he did seem to rally, but he wanted to go back among his children and the last of September with his wife he returned to Denver, but only lived a few weeks after returning to Colorado. He was born in Ohio, and over fifty years ago he with his parents and sisters and brother came to Salem and located. While here he attended the public schools, after which he went to Pittsburg, Pa., where he graduated at the business college. He was a man well educated, and would have been very useful in business circles, but his tastes seemed not to run that way. He loved to be out of doors. Was a great admirer of horses, and seemed to enjoy driving in the open air; September 15, 1870, he was married to Miss Lizzie Hussey. To that union were born five children: Frank, Joe and Bert, all living in, Denver; daughter, Jessie, died Sept. 24, 1896 in this city; Mrs. Anna Caldwell of Denver, with the three broth.ers and the aged companion survive. By his request, his body was brought to his old home, Salem. Funeral services were held Sunday at Denver, and his two sons, Joe and Bert, accompanied the remains to Salem, arriving here Tuesday evening and Wednesday at 2 p. in. at the residents of his sister, Mrs. H..Jones, and husband, funeral services were held, Mrs. Adelia Sharpless, of the Friends church, assisted by Rev. Sinclair, of the M. E. church, and Rev. Henderson, of the Congregational church, conducted the services. The remains were laid to rest in the Friends cemetery, Mr. Reeder having been raised in that faith. This obituary was taken from the archives of “The Salem News” dated Thursday, November 6, 1902.
