Read More	Grand Island Independent, Tuesday, January 18, 1921 St. Paul, Neb., Jan. 17 - (Special) - The body of Jason Stanley Klinginsmith, a Howard county soldier, who lost his life while serving with the American Expeditionary Forces in France, arrived in St. Paul last Wednesday morning, and the funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Friday, Jan. 14, at one o'clock. The Carl Mogensen Post of the American Legion had charge of the ceremonies, and Rev. M. M. Long delivered the address. The pallbearers were: Floyd Wilkie, Chris Greggerson, Chris Rasmussen, Billie Welch, John Jensen and Russell Kasson, who were all ex-servicemen and close personal friends of the deceased. It is estimated that this was the largest funeral ever held in St. Paul, and it was indeed impressive and thrilling to view the great throng of people who came to do honor to the memory of this soldier who had made the great sacrifice. Jason Stanley Klinginsmith left surviving him a father and mother, four brothers and three sisters and a host of other relatives and friends who will mourn his loss and cherish his memory. ********* Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent Thursday, 21 November 1918 Howard County Soldier St. Paul, Neb., Nov. 21 - Private Jason Klinginsmith, of this place, died on October 18th, of bronchial (words missing)..France, according to the word received by his parents. Mr. Klinginsmith resided practically all of his life in Howard county until two or three years ago, when he went to Manville, Wyo., from which place he enlisted on July 24, 1918. He was in service in the Medical Department of the army, and at the time of his death was attached to a base hospital situated about one hundred miles southeast of Paris. He was single, and besides his parents, leaves three brothers and a sister (sic) to mourn his death.
