Read More	Jasper Horn was born in Ste. Genevieve County, Missouri, the son of Thomas & Elizabeth (Hunt) Horn. He first married Mary Ann Perkins in 1855, and they had 9 children. Mr. Jasper Horn, a former well known and highly respected citizen of this county, died Saturday, August 5, 1911 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A.W. Stewman, at Carbondale, Ill., where he had been living for a number of years. Mr Horn was born in Ste. Genevieve county, Mo., September 22, 1932, and was in the 79th year of his age. He was a son of the late Thomas and Nancy (Hunt) Horn, one of thirteen born to them. In 1855 Mr. Horn was married to Miss Mary Perkins and nine children were born to them, only two of whom are living, Mrs. Stewman of Carbondale, Ill., and John Horn of Wichita, Kansas. Mrs. Horn died in 1876, and in 1879 he again married to Mrs. Eusebia Matkin, a daughter of the late John Tullock. Mr. Horn survived both his wives, and for the past sixteen years made his home with Mrs. Stewman. Mr. Horn was well and favorably known among the older people of this county, and for four years served as County Assessor, going out of office in 1879. He was a faithful and consistent member of the Baptist Church, having been a member of Colony Baptist Church for fifty years, a man of sterling character, pleasant and genial address, and enjoyed the respect and good will of all who knew him. His body was brought to Farmington for interment, accompanied by his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Stewman, their daughter, Miss Mildred, and little son, arriving here Monday night. The funeral services were held at the Baptist Church at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning by Rev. S.P. Brite, and interment took place at the Perkins cemetery, where he was laid to rest with his first wife with the rites of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, members of St. Francois Lodge No. 48, of which he had been a member, for 34 years, officiating at the grave.
