He was raised at Leeds & graduated from Leeds High School. In 1968 he moved to Washington & worked for several years. He then moved to the Bay area of California where he worked as a mechanic for several different auto dealerships. Later he operated his own automotive repair shop for 15 years in Livermore, Calif. He sold his business in 1994 & moved to Hillsboro, Ore. He was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church in Hillsboro. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited & the National Rifle Assn. He was an avid hunter, race car enthusiast & enjoyed collecting antiques. Survivors include 2 sisters, Donna Quiggle of Moorhead, Minn. & JoAnne Haupt of Bismarck; & 2 brothers, Sidney & Sigrud Buchta, both of Hillsboro, Ore. He was preceded in death by his parents.
