Description	:	Jay Edwin Flamme was born to his loving parents Wilmer Edwin and Pearl Adette (Willey) Flamme on Sunday August 17, 1947 at Fremont, Dodge County Nebraska. Jay attended country elementary school district number 28, he was a member of the local Cub Scout unit, he played little league baseball and enjoyed all types of sports. Jay was also a member of the United Presbyterian Church having fulfilled the course of communicant members on Sunday March 26, 1961. Read More	Jay Edwin Flamme was born to his loving parents Wilmer Edwin and Pearl Adette (Willey) Flamme on Sunday August 17, 1947 at Fremont, Dodge County Nebraska. Jay attended country elementary school district number 28, he was a member of the local Cub Scout unit, he played little league baseball and enjoyed all types of sports. Jay was also a member of the United Presbyterian Church having fulfilled the course of communicant members on Sunday March 26, 1961. He participated in the Sunday school classes and Youth Club of this church. In 1964 he attended the Rocky Mountain Trail Conference in Colorado with the Presbyterian Church group. Jay drove a red "61" Ford two door hardtop during his high school years, he graduated from North Bend High, Dodge County on Sunday May 23, 1965. Jay always helped his father with the farm chores, I even helped Jay and his father one year in the late fall picking up ear corn after the corn picker had gone though the field. Jay attended Wayne State College, Wayne County. Jay was employed by the Kellog Construction Company of Fremont, Dodge County, then later he was employed under the engineers for the Colorado State Highway Department at Denver, Denver County Colorado. Jay entered the armed forces in March 1968. Jay left for Vietnam in August of 1968, returning home in August 1969. Jay was at Fort Lewis Washington when his life sadly expired on Thursday October 9, 1969 at the age of 22 years, 1 month and 22 days which does not include his last day, he lived a total of 8,089 days. Jay's funeral service was held at the United Presbyterian Church on Monday October 13, 1969. The soloist sang "How Great Thou Art" and "The Lord's Prayer". Jay was interred in section a, lot 151, grave 9 at Memorial Cemetery of Fremont with a military graveside services by the Color Guard and Firing Squad from Offutt Air Force Base. Jay's cemetery grave marker inscription is "Nebraska SP5 HHB 2HOW BN 34 ARTY". Moser Memorial Chapel was in charge of Jay's arrangements.
