Description	:	Jay married Nona Hackett and they were the parents of Norman Jay and Robert Charles Orford. Early on the morning of 26 Oct 1931 Jay took up his infant son, Robert Charles, kissed him tenderly and as his wife fell back asleep in their bed battered the infant to death. His wife awoke as Jay struck her in the head with a club. Her screams brought the assistance of an electric power worker nearby. In the meantime Jay had attacked their 12 year old son, Norman, who escaped through the kitchen window onto a roof and jumped from there... Jay set fire to their house and then killed himself. His wife was rescued. Jay and Robert Charles, the infant, died.
