Description	:	Wenatchee - Jay Oscar McMullen, 77, a 70-year resident of Wenatchee, died Sunday, June 16, 1996, at his home in Wenatchee. He was born Sept. 26, 1918, to Oscar and Clarabelle (Zornes) McMullen at Wenatchee. Jay graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1936. He married Merne A. Knight at Seattle on Aug. 28, 1942. Jay went to work for Wells and Wade Hardware in the sheet metal shop, where he worked for over 20 years. He then went to work for the Wenatchee School District as a maintenance man and later started a photography business working as a professional photographer, shooting mostly weddings.... He was born Sept. 26, 1918, to Oscar and Clarabelle (Zornes) McMullen at Wenatchee. Jay graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1936. He married Merne A. Knight at Seattle on Aug. 28, 1942. Jay went to work for Wells and Wade Hardware in the sheet metal shop, where he worked for over 20 years. He then went to work for the Wenatchee School District as a maintenance man and later started a photography business working as a professional photographer, shooting mostly weddings. Jay also owned and operated an audio recording company, recording audio tapes for the British Brass Band, the Apollo Club, the Joan Shelton Ballet, the Apple Aires and the Columbia Chorale. He taught his nephew, Richard Zornes, his knowledge of music and recording to take over the recording business. Jay's main hobby was gardening. He took great pride in preparing the perfect bouquet for his friends. He also enjoyed teaching his gardening skills to his family. His roses, tomatoes and begonias were his pride and joy. Jay was a member of the First Assembly of God Church for over 30 years. Survivors include his wife, Merne of Cashmere; three daughters, Judy Anderson of Plano, Texas, and Pat Buxton and Mary Covey, both of East Wenatchee; two sisters, Doris Zornes of Wenatchee and ]Deloris Corulli of Chelan; nephew Richard and wife Jeannie Zornes; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Jones and Jones Funeral Directors of Wenatchee are in charge of arrangements.
