She married Norbert "Nubs" Even on May 5, 1953, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Evansdale. Mrs. Even worked for The Tenth Inning and was a homemaker. Survived by: her husband; five sons, Kevin (Kim), Joseph and Dennis (Kathy), all of Gilbertville, Gary (Rhonda) of Independence and Brian (Kristi) of Waverly; three daughters, Dixie (Butch) Frawley of Reedsburg, Wis., Monica (Terry) Frost of Gilbertville and Kathy (Grant) Masteller of Jesup; 26 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Emerson of Denver; a sister, Karen Chilcoth of Waterloo; two stepbrothers, Lloyd Schaffer and Roy Schaffer, both of Waterloo; and a stepsister, Linda Corcoran of Nebraska. Preceded in death by: two sons, Greg and Rodney Sr.; and two sisters, Joan Weltzin and Karol Emerson. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, both in Gilbertville. Public visitation from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a 3 p.m. Order of Foresters rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil, and for an hour before services Friday at the church. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
