Shorb and Elsie V. Markle Shorb. She is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Harry L. Arbaugh, who passed away on January 18, 2019. Born January 11, 1931 in Manchester, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. Shorb and Elsie V. Markle Shorb. She is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Harry L. Arbaugh, who passed away on January 18, 2019. In her early years Jean worked at Koontz Creamery on John Street, Westminster, until the business closed. She was an ordering clerk organizing deliveries for the drivers. After that, she was employed and retired from the Carroll County Board of Education after 25 years of service. She worked as a switch board operator and in the printing department assisting teachers and staff with their needs. She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manchester. Jean and her husband enjoyed auctions and yard sales. She loved butterflies, angels, and always a smile for babies. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Cary and Jill Myers of Westminster; step-son and daughter-in-law Steve and Linda Arbaugh of Baltimore; step-son and daughter-in-law Bob and Kim Arbaugh of New Windsor; grandchildren Sarah and Jamie Ryan; Matthew and Kelli Arbaugh; Darrin Arbaugh and Cheryl Williams; Kristin and Tyler Athey; Madison, Christian and Seth Myers; great-grandchildren Landon, Emerson and Cameron Ryan; Brayden and Emma Rose Arbaugh; and Callie Ann and McKenzie Athey. She is also survived by sisters Doris R. Wentz of Manchester. She was predeceased by infant sisters Helen May and Betty Marie Shorb; and brothers and sisters Leroy A.Shorb, Sterling L. Shorb, Charles H. Shorb, Mariam A. Ellis, Shirley A. Carbaugh, and Janet L. Patterson. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral and Cremation Services, 254 E. Main Street, Westminster, MD. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3184 Church Street, Manchester, MD 21102, with Rev. Charles Marshall officiating. Interment will follow at the New Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3184 Church Street, Manchester, MD 21102 or BridgingLife (Dove House), 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
