Jean Jeanette Wright was born on July 9, 1932 in the family farm-home south of Hubbard. She was one of eight children born to Gustav and Marie (Hebrok) Oberhokamp. She received her education in the "Gogerty" country school and then attended high school in Zearing for two years. She completed her education at Hubbard High School, Class of 1950. Read More	Jeannie Wright, age 84, of Hubbard, IA, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at Hubbard Care Center. Jean Jeanette Wright was born on July 9, 1932 in the family farm-home south of Hubbard. She was one of eight children born to Gustav and Marie (Hebrok) Oberhokamp. She received her education in the "Gogerty" country school and then attended high school in Zearing for two years. She completed her education at Hubbard High School, Class of 1950. Jean was married on March 19, 1954, to Kenneth Wright at Hubbard in St. John's Lutheran Church. The same church in which she was baptized and confirmed. They settled on the family farm south of New Providence in 1955. Jean and Ken raised their five children on the farm where they lived for 32 years. In 1987 Jean and Ken moved to Hubbard. Jean remained in Hubbard until she passed away at the Hubbard Care Center on Saturday, September 17th, 2016. Jean was known for her baking, which included cinnamon rolls, sticky rolls and butterhorns. Jean's interests included traveling, family vacations, hosting German relatives, following the Iowa State Cyclones, and attending grandchildrens' sporting events. Those remaining to cherish her memory include her five children, Kent (Martha) of Woodstock, AL, Cindy (Spencer) Slifer of Wellsburg, Kim (Shawn) of DeWitt, Kevin of Windsor, CA and Kris (Tammy) of West Des Moines; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters Arlene Brinkmeyer of Hubbard, Margie Boeke of West Okoboji and Mary Ann Reisetter of Newton; one brother Melvin of Nevada; along with other relatives and friends. Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Gunther and two sisters Doris Boeke and Ruth Mannetter.
