Funeral services will be held 11:00 Friday morning, January 5, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Anamosa where friends may greet the family after 10:00. Interment will be in the Wilcox Cemetery, Viola. Rev. Rodney Bluml will officiate at the services. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Russ in June of 2017, a son William, her sister, Hattie Ricklefs, a brother, Willis Ricklefs, and sisters –in-law, Bonnie Ricklefs and Lois Smith, and a brother–in-law, George Postel. Jean Joann Ricklefs was born June 16, 1938 at Anamosa, Iowa. She was the daughter of William F. and Lena Gross, Ricklefs. Jean graduated from the Martelle High School in 1956. She then went to work at Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids. Jean Ricklefs married Russ Postel on August 4, 1957 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She continued her job at Collins until 1967 when she went to work at the Anamosa Community Schools as the secretary to the Superintendent. From 1972 until 1974 she was the secretary to the Athletic Director. In 1974 she took a job she truly loved as the Secretary and Office assistant at the Jones County Extension Service. She retired from there in 2000. Jean was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and also worked on the funeral lunch Committee. Goettsch Funeral Home has been entrusted with the services.
