Description	:	Jean Sinclair, 83 of Gering, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at her home. Her funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 1, at 10 a.m. at the Gering United Methodist Church with Pastor Lauren Ekdahl officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Gering Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be given to the church. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.geringchapel.com. Jean was born Feb. 18, 1928, in Scottsbluff to John and Mary (Haverick) Kaufman. She attended school in Scottsbluff and Gering, graduating from Gering High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to Floyd Sinclair on Dec. 18, 1949, at the First United Methodist Church in Gering. Jean worked as a telephone operator for numerous years, retiring in 1953 to take care of her children and family. She has lived most of her life in the Scottsbluff-Gering area. She was a long time member of the church. Jean enjoyed camping and fishing. Survivors include her husband Floyd of almost 62 years; son Dennis Sinclair of Carrollton, Texas and daughter Judy Sinclair of Pierce, Colo.; brother, Kenneth Kaufman of Pueblo, Colo.; sisters, Esther White of Casper, Wyo., Lillian Case of Boulder, Colo. and Dorothy Miller of Norman, Okla. and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents and sisters Mary Ann and Betty preceded Jean in death. Published in The Star-Herald from September 29 to October 1, 2011.
