Description	:	Jean M. Goscha, a longtime resident of Norfolk, died September 12 at the Golden Living Center in Neligh after a short battle with cancer. She was 81. A Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, Sept. 15, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Neligh with Rev. John Broheimer officiating. Interment will follow in St. Theresa’s Catholic Cemetery near Clearwater. Visitation will be p.m. Sunday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church with a 7 p.m. wake service. Goscha was born March 3, 1933, to Nicholas J. and Frances (Zimmerman) Goscha. She was the youngest of 13 children. Jean was baptized and confirmed at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Clearwater. She attended country school and graduated from Clearwater High School in 1950. She then moved to Norfolk where she worked for many years at Delay Bank before retiring in 1997. Jean was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk, and most recently, was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Neligh. Jean was a woman of faith and was often called upon by her loved ones to pray for them and their intercessions. She had a keen mind, a remarkable memory, and a generous spirit. “Aunt Jean” will be missed. Survivors include one sister, Lucy Allemang of Neligh and many nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Joe, Martin, Lawrence and Jerome Goscha and seven sisters, Helen Dewey, Christina Goscha, Cecilia Raeside, Mildred Simmons, Gail Doyle, Margaret Shavlik and twin sister, Joan Goscha.
