Sarratt, of Gaffney, died at her home on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006. ~ Born on March 6, 1926, in Cherokee County, she was the youngest daughter of the late Glenn Gardner Inman and Belle Humphries Inman. ~ Mrs. Sarratt received a B.S. degree from Limestone College and a Master's degree from Converse College. Read More	OBITUARY - Published in The Gaffney (SC) Ledger on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 (page 8) JEAN INMAN SARRATT ~ Jean Inman Sarratt, 80, devoted wife of James T. Sarratt, of Gaffney, died at her home on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006. ~ Born on March 6, 1926, in Cherokee County, she was the youngest daughter of the late Glenn Gardner Inman and Belle Humphries Inman. ~ Mrs. Sarratt received a B.S. degree from Limestone College and a Master's degree from Converse College. She taught Earth Science and Health at the junior high school level, retiring in 1987. She was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation. ~ Mrs. Sarratt was also an involved member of the Cherokee County Education Association and, the South Carolina Education Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, and the Cherokee County Retired Teacher's Association, serving a term as president. She served on the South Carolina State Advisory Council on Teacher Education and Certification, the Salvation Army Advisory Board, and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She was a Teacher of the Year nominee and was nominated for Outstanding Educator of the Year Award. She was also recognized by Who's Who in American Teachers in 1992. ~ Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, James Steven Sarratt and wife, Cindy, of Dalton, Ga., David Glenn Sarratt and wife, Cindy, of St. Matthews and John Madison Sarratt and wife, Pam, of Anderson two sisters, Belva Clarkson of Spartanburg and Mary Bishop of Kansas City, Mo.; granddaughters, Alisha S. Martinia of Mt. Pleasant, Jennifer S. Ray of Anderson and Andrea Sarratt of Jacksonville, Fla.; grandsons, Jeffrey S. Sarratt of Chattanooga, Tenn., John M. Sarratt II of Anderson and Thomas E. Sarratt of Tallahassee, Fla.; one step-grandson, Vincent G. Caggiano IV of Dalton, Ga.; and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. ~ Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation, conducted by Father Alex Barron.
