Description	:	My dear companion, our beloved mother, Jean Wanita Thiessen, was born to Claude and Mary Toews on November 1, 1938, at Sunnyslope, Alberta. She peacefully fell asleep on April 1, 1984, at the age of 45 years and 5 months. Three years ago we became aware that she had cancer, and she suffered much pain, especially in the last six months. We were able to care for her at home until the last three days. She peacefully fell asleep in the Central Peace Hospital, Spirit River, Alberta. Read More	My dear companion, our beloved mother, Jean Wanita Thiessen, was born to Claude and Mary Toews on November 1, 1938, at Sunnyslope, Alberta. She peacefully fell asleep on April 1, 1984, at the age of 45 years and 5 months. Three years ago we became aware that she had cancer, and she suffered much pain, especially in the last six months. We were able to care for her at home until the last three days. She peacefully fell asleep in the Central Peace Hospital, Spirit River, Alberta. She left us with the assurance that she was going to a better home. When she was four years old, the family moved to Crooked Creek, Alberta, where she grew up and received her education. She was converted and baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on June 17, 1951. She remained true and faithful to her vows to the end. On July 24, 1958, she was married to me, Leroy Thiessen. This union was blessed with seven children. On October 26, 1970, we were ordained into the office of the deacon. She was always concerned for the spiritual welfare of those around her. Mom was a cheerful mother in the home, always ready to help others. Her loving smile will always be remembered. Left to cherish her in loving memory are: her husband, Leroy; two sons and four daughters, all of the home: Brenda, Brian, Edith, Nora, Donny, and Melanie; her parents, Claude and Mary Toews of Crooked Creek, Alberta; four sisters: Josie, Mrs. Lorne Thiessen, of Crooked Creek, Alberta; Norma of Grande Prairie, Alberta; Julie, Mrs. Gerald Zenner, of Debolt, Alberta; Darlene, Mrs. Merle Klassen, of Heart Valley, Alberta; two brothers: Willard and Eva Toews of Crooked Creek, Alberta; Leslie and Dyann of Linden, Alberta; and many more relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one son, Eric, in infancy, and one brother, Wilfred, in infancy. Funeral services were held on April 4, 1984, with Min. Jeff Dueck in charge. Interment was in the Heart Valley Cemetery.
