Description	:	WATERVILLE - Jeanette Donahue, 94, passed away at Lakewood Continuing Care Center in Waterville, following a brief stay recovering from a fall that broke her hip. She died early Saturday morning July 26, 2014, with Darlene Franklin by her side. The Lakewood staff was very kind to Jeanette and her family. Read More	WATERVILLE - Jeanette Donahue, 94, passed away at Lakewood Continuing Care Center in Waterville, following a brief stay recovering from a fall that broke her hip. She died early Saturday morning July 26, 2014, with Darlene Franklin by her side. The Lakewood staff was very kind to Jeanette and her family. Jeanette was born in Waterville May 27, 1920, the daughter of Clifford and Ida Bernier. She was a graduate of Waterville High School, where she was happily one of two students that drove a car to school. She especially enjoyed hearing a remark made by a Colby student on College Avenue, "Look at that little kid driving that car." She retold that story to everyone. She had her license up to the age of 90. Jeanette was married to James "Jimmy" Donahue, who was a superintendent at Keyes Fibre Co. They had no children, but were like parents to Darlene Franklin and Kerry LeClair. She was a favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews. She had a close relationship to many in-laws, of which only three are still living: Sheila Audet, Joanne Donahue and David Donahue. She spent her last two years at the Sunset Home in Waterville. She was happy there and the staff took very good care of her. Jeanette liked bowling (won many trophies), camping and sailing at McGrath Pond in Oakland. She and Jimmy spent 15 winters in Sarasota, Fla. Jimmy passed away Feb. 28, 2001, in Florida. Jeanette was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Walter, at the age of 9, whom she never knew; her brother, Jerome Bernier; and her sister, Lucille Bolduc. Lucille was the mother to Jeanette Breton (named after her) and Susan Bolduc. Jeanette and Susan grew up living near her and she was their favorite aunt. Her brother, Jerome, had five children but lived out of state. Jimmy and Jeanette took in her grand-niece Leslie Breton during the summers when she was going to Colby, so that she could work at the Keyes Fibre to help with tuition. Leslie stayed many weeks during the summer while growing up and was a friend of Darlene Franklin (formerly LeClair). A graveside committal service will be at St. Francis Cemetery.
