Description	:	Jeanette C. Stocks, 51, of Nashua, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 1984, at home. She was a very talented daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Walter Stocks, born March 2, 1933, and lifelong resident of Nashua. She worked as a secretary at Black-Clawson Co., in Nashua. Survivors are her mother, Nina Stocks; one brother, Arthur Stocks of Mason City; and two nieces. Jeanette graduated from Nashua High School in May 1951. She received the Carl J. Hanson Memorial Award. Recipients are nominated by classmates and reviewed by faculty for leadership, citizenship and participation in school affairs. After graduating, she went to work in the G. G. Grocery. In 1952, she was in charge of tickets and advertising for the annual alumni reception during high school commencement week. In 1953, she assisted the clarinet section of the summer band. In March 1969, she reunited with three high school friends (Mary White, Phyllis Hinch and Sharon Merfeld) to sing at a community talent show, that netted $670. In April 1969, Jeanette's creative abilities were called upon by former teacher, Lee Gritzner of Califormia. He asked her help in designing a page in his desert newsletter, The Desert Breeze, that honored his parents, Carl and Hazle Gritzner on their 50th anniversary. Jeanette sketched the Little Brown Church where they had married in 1919 along with a silhouette of Carl and Hazle. The Nashua Reporter of 31 Dec 1969 reported "Ten Years Ago Christmas 1959" that visitors to the Red Cross Drugstore in Nashua are familiar with the Paul Bunyanesque version of Santa, an artistic and hard work achievement of Miss Jeanette Stocks, clothed as 'Rexall Sam' during most of the year, but she had trimmed him as Santa, doing a gifted job incorporating a mile of yarn into his outfit." Also Twenty Years Ago Christmas 1949 "At a Christmas program held at Congregational Christian Church on Christmas Eve, carols sung by junior choir was accompanied by Mrs. Hollis Strike, Jeanette Stocks and Joan Waite." In January 1973, new officers of UCC were named, and Jeanette Stocks was elected church clerk. In April 1974, she served as a delegate from Nashua at the North Eastern Association, UCC Spring Convention. In February 1976, Miss Stocks was director of the First Congregational Junior and Senior High Youth Groups and Choir which organized several events for our nation's Bicentennial. In June 1976, Jeanette fell from a chair with casters (she said it was foolish to stand on it) and broke her wrist. Friends brought cards, flowers, and gifts, including from "her crazy youth group" who brought her favorite, jars of green olives.
