She married Cletus J. Tauke on May 24, 1948, in Petersburg. Together they dairy farmed for nearly 40 years near Garnavillo, until retiring to Dyersville in 1984. He preceded her in death in 2003. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish and the Layettes, the Order of Martha and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 137. Jeanette loved to garden, cook and sew. Surviving are a daughter, Sarah (Sam) Schmelzer, of Asbury; a daughter-in-law, Lois Tauke, of Cascade; four grandchildren, Renee Paylor (Tony Croom), Andy Tauke, Amy Jin Schmelzer and Angela (Jason) Steffen; three great-grandchildren, Antonio Paylor, Trey Croom and Parker Steffen; three sisters, Alice Boeckenstedt, of Dubuque, Priscilla (LaVern) Moorman, of Strawberry Point, and Mary Ellen Hoefler, of Lamont; and a brother, Daniel (Myrna) Bagge, of Dyersville; and sisters-in-law, Carol Bagge, Imogene Bagge and Leonette Wessels, all of Dyersville. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert, in 2011; her twin brother, Jerome Bagge, another brother, Leon Bagge; three sisters, Mila and Laura Betty Bagge and Pearl (Omer) Koelker; and brothers-in-law, Clarence (Loretta) Tauke, Albert Boeckenstedt, Arnold Hoefler and LaVern Wessels.
