Cumberland Evening Times: January 24, 1951, p. 15 Mrs. Jeanette Ternent LONACONING —Mrs. Jeanette Ternent, 96, Lonaconing's oldest resident, died early this morning at her home, Castle Hill, following a lingering illness. A pioneer resident of the community, Mrs. Ternent was born March 19, 1854, in Paisley, Scotland, a daughter of the late James and Ann (Bodman) Darnley. She was the widow of George Ternent. Mrs. Ternent was affiliated with First Methodist Church. Her family has operated a general merchandise store here for 65 years. Surviving are five sons, James D., Harry B. and Sampson Ternent, all at home; George J. Ternent, Cleveland, and Alvin H. Ternent, Lonaconing; four daughters, Annie E. and Jeanette Ternent, both at home, and Mrs. Hannah Evans and Mrs. J. W. Hutson, both of Chester, Pa.; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The body will remain at the residence where, services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Friday. Rev. Amos H. Stone, pastor of First Methodist Church, 'will officiate and interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
