Description	:	Jeanette Juffer, 91, of Sioux Center died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Sioux Center Community Nursing Facility. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, with the Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating. Burial will be prior to the service Saturday in Memory Gardens Cemetery. There will be a prayer service at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Jeanette (De Vries) Juffer was born Oct. 4, 1913, to Abe and Jacoba (Brunsting) De Vries. She grew up on her parents' farm and attended a one-room country school. She met Wilmer "Bill" Juffer as a young lady, when she delivered eggs to the local produce. They dated and married on a damp March 2, 1936. After their marriage, the couple moved to Sioux Center, where they made their home their entire married life. She devoted her life to being a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Her family was her greatest joy and she was always interested in their personal growth and development. She was a lifelong member of First Reformed Church. She taught children in Sunday School and catechism and was active in the Guild and Priscilla Circle. Friends and neighbors were also an important part of her life. She enjoyed their visits and liked to entertain. Many friends can recall coffee times with a nicely set table and tempting food. After Bill died on Sept. 6, 1991, she made her home at the Regency and later at the Kosgrove Estate. Again, the residents and caregivers of these facilities were an integral part of her life. She is survived by two children; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Bill; her parents; a sister and her husband, Sadie and Jake Altena; and a brother and his wife, Albert and Alyda De Vries. -Obituary from The Sioux City Journal (4/1/2005)
