She was raised by her grandmother Musland in Garden City, Iowa, where she attended grade school and graduated from Radcliffe High School in 1941. It was there she met her husband Forrest of thirty years. Jeanette and Forrest were married on June 14, 1941. They had one son Ronald born in 1941. Forrest and his father Freddie built the farmstead in 1939. Jeanette and Forrest moved there in 1946. Ron and Leann now live on the family farm. Forrest and Jeanette loved the farm life, livestock, grain farming and their large garden and yard. Jeanette enjoyed canning and was a good cook, always having many meals ready for Freddie, Forrest and Ron. Jeanette and Forrest were on their first winter vacation in Arizona when Forrest passed away of a heart attack at the age of 50 years, in February of 1972. It was at this time that Jeanette started working outside the home for the first time. She worked as a dietician at Valley View Nursing Home, Land-O-Lakes Turkey Plant and later had a cleaning service with her women friends. She had a large circle of friends. Jeanette enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and going to birthday clubs. Her favorite music was polka and western music and favorite T. V. shows were Lawrence Welk and Guy Lombardo rerun shows. Jeanette was a life long member of the United Church of Christ in Hubbard, attending regularly until July at which time she entered the Hubbard Care Center. She remained at the Hubbard Care Center where she passed away peacefully due to complications of a stroke and Parkinson's disease. Her family was the love and center of her life. She was so proud of Kevin and Kimberly, attending their activities as they grew up and later with their families. She loved her four great-grandchildren, visiting them at holiday celebrations and birthday parties. They called her "Granny Jeanette". Those remaining to cherish her memory are her son, Ron and his wife Leann Klemme of Hubbard, IA; grandchildren Kimberly and Dan Lewis and their children Katelyn and Kendra of Jacksonville, FL. and Kevin and Diane Klemme and their children Tyler and Joshua of Bondurant, IA; half brothers Carlos and Doris Minear of West Lake, CA, Marian Minear of Arivaco, AZ; half sisters, Marie and Cliff Zink of Marshalltown, IA, Marjorie and Darrel Cummings of Roebary, OR; brother-in-law Robert and Phyllis Klemme of Hubbard, IA; along with many nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Forrest, parents Martin and Bertha Musland, step-mother Zola Musland, half sister Irene Berven and half brothers Charlie Musland, Marlow Minear and sisters-in-law Genie Faust and Darlene Cummings. We thank God for the life and memory of Jeanette Marie Klemme. Visitation: The family will receive friends at Boeke Funeral Home in Hubbard, IA, on Friday, October 10, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Service: Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Zion United Church of Christ in Hubbard, IA. Cemetery: Jeanette will be buried at Hubbard Cemetery in Hubbard, IA.
