Jeanette was a lifelong member of Holy Communtion Lutheran Church and served faithfully. She had a special place in her heart for the Sunday School Program, which she served for many years. Jeanette is survived by her loving husband and companion of 44 years, Hughie L. Johnson of the home; two sons, Kevin S. Johnson and wife Rita of Granite Falls, and Brian C. Johnson and wife Veronica of Boone; three granddaughters, Jennifer Johnson of Granite Falls and her fiance Nat Auten of Hickory, Brooke Johnson of Granite Falls, and Sophie Johnson of Boone; one grandson, Brock Johnson of Granite Falls; two brothers, William David Welch and wife Marilyn of Zionville, and Charles "Eddie" Welch and wife Betty of Boone; one sister, Pat Welch Townsend and husband J.B. of Boone, and her mother-in-law, Daisy Johnson of Banner Elk. She is also survived by a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, officiated by Pastor David Mielke. Burial in Holy Communion Lutheran Church Cemetery.
