Description	:	Jeanie Marlene Holtan passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Valley Health Care, after a long illness. She was born in Columbus on June 9, 1942, to Alvin and Ida Hochhalter. She had a wonderful childhood filled with love. She enjoyed dressing up her dog and taking her for a ride in her doll buggy. Her interest in fashion began quite young. Read More	Jeanie Marlene Holtan passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Valley Health Care, after a long illness. She was born in Columbus on June 9, 1942, to Alvin and Ida Hochhalter. She had a wonderful childhood filled with love. She enjoyed dressing up her dog and taking her for a ride in her doll buggy. Her interest in fashion began quite young. She also started piano lessons at an early age and was an accomplished musician. Jeanie was education in Billings. While a student in her senior year at Billings Senior High, she began working for School District 2 under the work co-op program. After graduation in 1960, she continued working at the School District as bookkeeper, payroll clerk, secretary to the business manager, and finally as secretary at Will James Junior High, where she retired in 1995. During her career, she met many wonderful people, many of whom have remained lifelong friends. Jeanie loved to shop, collect dolls, Precious Moments, antiques, shop, bake, spend time with her friends and family, and shop! She had a big heart and was the most thoughtful and generous daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend. Jeanie also loved to remodel and decorate her home, filling it with beauty and love. She also filled her yard with beautiful flowers, nurturing and encouraging them to grow, as she did to the people whose lives she touched. Jeanie is survived by her daughter Lori and adoring son-in-law, Mitch Cline; her mother Ida; brother Don and sister-in-law Glenda; niece Randi (Jim) Creitz and great-nieces Emma and Piper; as well as her wonderful friends who supported her through the good times as well as during her illness. You will remain in our hearts forever. We are thankful you are finally at peace. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Ron; her father Alvin; her mother and father-in-law, Sig and Edna Holtan; brother-in-law Orley; grandparents; and most recently her faithful companion, her Yorkie, Gretchen. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 27, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The casket will be open for visitation on Thursday, May 26, and prior to the funeral on Friday. Memorials are suggested to the charity of one's choice.
