They lived at Keswick from 1948 to 1953, when they moved to Hayesville. She worked as postal clerk from 1967 until 1980 at Hayesville and Ottumwa and was appointed postmaster at Hayesville in 1980 and served until May 1981. She was a member of the Methodist church. Survivors include her husband, Leonard; a daughter Linda Killian and a son Michael; four granddaughters and two grandsons; one brother Arthur Sievers; two sisters Mrs. Donavan (Bette) Soll and Mrs. Ronald (Shirley) List.
