FARRIS DEAD PASSED TO THE GREAT BEYOND ON TUESDAY AT NOON AFTER A LINGERING ILLNESS Mrs G.W. Farris died on Tuesday at twelve o'clock at noon after having been ailing for some time, but until a few days before her death it was not thought that the end was so near. She was taken with an attack of pneumonia on Thursday night and owing to her weakened condition on account of the lingering illness it was impossible to stay the progress of the disease, although all that medical skill could do was done for her. Jemima E Kelly was born at Dresden, Ohio, on August 23, 1845, being sixty-two years old last August. In 1857 she moved with her parents to Wisconsin and on March 4, 1874, was married to Mr G.W. Farris, who survives her. They continued to reside in Wisconsin until 1893 when they moved to Hope, N.D., and in 1900 moved to a farm twenty miles north of Courtenay, in Foster County. There they made their home until the fall of 1904 when they moved to Courtenay and have resided here ever since. Two children were born to them, George Farris of Courtenay, who is now 27 years of age, and Mrs Syble Posey of Tolley, N.D., who is 24 years of age. Besides these two children and her husband she leaves to mourn two little grandchildren, daughters of Mrs Posey, whom she has cared for a number of years and who will miss her probably more than her own children on account of their tender years. Mrs Farris was a highly respected lady in the community, and while not identified with any church or creed she was possessed of a high moral sense and was a true and faithful wife and mother. She was a very quiet and reserved in her manner and was a truly good woman. The funeral was conducted this afternoon from the Presbyterian church, Rev. M.S. Riddle officiating, and interment took place in the Courtenay cemetery where the remains were followed to their last resting place by a large number of sorrowing friends.
