Description	:	Jennetta was born at sea, on a ship crossing the Atlantic. She was abandonded by her birth mother, and adopted by Rev. Oaks family, and raised in Dubuque, Iowa. She was a gentle, loving Mother, who never raised her voice, with one exception. Upon her husband's death in 1888, well meaning relatives wanted to divide her family to help her raise the children.
