Description	:	Jessie Atherton Hafer was born Feb. 11, 1878, in Chautauqua county, Kansas, and died at her home near Seward, Nebr., Feb. 2, 1910, aged 32 years. She was married to John S. Hafer April 22, 1903, and to them were born two children, Norris, five years old, and Carl, three years old. She leaves besides her husband and two children, her father, David Atherton, five sisters, Mrs. James Cantrell, Misses Lula, Florence and Nellie Atherton, all of Wilber, Nebr., and Mrs. Dora Brainard of Beatrice, and two brothers, Ben and Van Atherton of Wilber. Her mother and three brothers died some... Read More	Jessie Atherton Hafer was born Feb. 11, 1878, in Chautauqua county, Kansas, and died at her home near Seward, Nebr., Feb. 2, 1910, aged 32 years. She was married to John S. Hafer April 22, 1903, and to them were born two children, Norris, five years old, and Carl, three years old. She leaves besides her husband and two children, her father, David Atherton, five sisters, Mrs. James Cantrell, Misses Lula, Florence and Nellie Atherton, all of Wilber, Nebr., and Mrs. Dora Brainard of Beatrice, and two brothers, Ben and Van Atherton of Wilber. Her mother and three brothers died some years ago, and one sister in 1909. The deceased was of a retiring manner, kind disposition, and genial in her home life, passionately fond of her children and husband. She was a Christian indeed, and a member of a church since early life. She was a great sufferer six months prior to her death, but bore it with much patience in the hope of final promotion to her home in heaven. Funeral services over the remains were held Friday afternoon in the United Brethren church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. F. Mower, and the body was buried in the Anderson cemetery west of town.
