During her childhood she moved to Sycamore, Ill., where her girlhood days were spent. April 11, 1866, she was united in marriage to Chauncey Sizbury, who preceded her in death Sept. 4, 1917. To them were born 10 children: Joseph of Des Moines, Iowa, Fred of Elma, Iowa; George and John of Woodward, Iowa; Mrs. Nellie Kendal of Perry, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Brooks of Wilton, N.D.; Mrs. Julia Gibbons of Boone, Iowa, and the Misses Cora and Aljean Sixbury of Woodward, who have so devotedly cared for their mother in her declining years. There are the living children who were all with her during her last days. Katie having passed away August 18, 1893. She also leaves 23 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, to mourn her departure, also one sister of New Castle, Canada. --from The Perry Daily Chief (Perry, Iowa) Sept. 24, 1921 ___________________________________ The funeral of Mrs. C.E. Sixbury was held at the home in Woodward Monday afternoon, Sept. 19th, 1921, conducted by Rev. J.E. Treloar. Interment was made in the Woodward cemetery. Her husband, who was a veteran of the Civil War passed away a few years ago. She is survived by nine children, all of whom were present. They are: Mrs. Nellie Kendall of Perry; Mrs. Mayme Brooks of North Dakota, Mrs. Julia Gibbons of Boone; Misses Cora and Aljean at home; Fred and Joe of Des Moines and George and John of Woodward. --Sept. 23, 1921, Perry, Iowa Daughter of Richard Ainley and Martha Holroyd.
