Description	:	Jennie Cleave was born Sept. 25, 1861 on a farm in Missouri. She was the oldest child of Lucy Borden Cleave and James Cleave. At an early age the family moved to a farm near the Webster school, north of Farmington. It was at this school that Mrs. Crown received her early education. At the age of twelve she went to make her home with the Scott family in the Lawrence school district. Here she remained a good many years, until the death of Mr. Scott. She was the oldest child of Lucy Borden Cleave and James Cleave. At an early age the family moved to a farm near the Webster school, north of Farmington. It was at this school that Mrs. Crown received her early education. At the age of twelve she went to make her home with the Scott family in the Lawrence school district. Here she remained a good many years, until the death of Mr. Scott. On Sept. 25, 1886, she was married to Henry Crown, who preceded her in death in 1927. To this union were born four sons and one daughter, namely, George, of Farmington; John of Washington D. C.; Keith, and daughter, Mrs. Christian Strom, of Gary, Ind.; and Sam of Los Angeles, Calif. Her sisters, Mrs. Bess Miller and Mrs. Emma Tatz also survive her, as do her half-sisters Kippy and Jessie, and brother, Charles Cleave. There were also eight grandchildren. Mrs. Crown was a good neighbor, and a good friend of the young people. She also was a great lover of flowers, and had many beautiful plants at all times. On December 25, 1944 she suffered a fall which incapacitated her to such a degree that she could no longer live alone. On January 2, 1945 she went to make her home with her daughter in Gary. On April 6, 1945 she passed away from a stroke and pneumonia. The stars shall shine for a thousand years. A thousand years and a day. But God and I will live and love When the stars are passed away. Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 o'clock in the Farmington Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. John S. Ellis. Interment in the Greenglade Cemetery.
