Description	:	Jennie was the daughter of Jonathan Kettle and Clara A. Smith. About 1894 she married Frank H. Giberson, son of Hamilton Giberson and Isabella Ireland. They had at least three children. There is no record of the first; the 2nd was stillborn in 1896 (no sex listed); the 3rd was son, Willis, born in Dec 1897. He can't be found after the 1900 census, living with Jennie in her parents house. They divorced before April 1898 when Frank remarried. On Nov 17, 1900 in Groveton, NH she married James Horace Walker, son of John Henry Walker and Abigail Leighton. They had a son, Henry Raymond, in Jan 1901 in Groveton, NH. This marriage didn't last and they divorced before Jan 1905 when James married Elizabeth (Potter) Cole Lockhart Newell. On Jan 23, 1906 in Brighton, VT she married Herman Edward Jordan, son of Edwin Jordan and Lucy Hall. It was his 1st marriage. (see note on name below) Their children were Marion L, Herman Clyde, Minnie E, and Sybil Omega. Her son from her last marriage became Henry Raymond Jordan from that point on. Jennie was predeceased by her husband, Herman, in May 1950 in Franklin; son Herman Clyde in March 1911 in Lisbon, NH at 25 days old; and daughter Sybil Omega Forsyth in Feb 1941 in Sanbornton, NH. Her son Henry died in Jan 1955 in Manchester, NH of cancer; and daughter Minnie E. Sommerman and her husband Cleyon Milo Sommerman were killed in an auto accident Mar 4, 1956 in Lunenburg, MA (residents of Manchester, NH). Jennie could have survived these two children also. Jennie was last found in the 1951 Franklin, NH City Directory at 60 Elm Street, widow of Herman. Which means she was living there when they took the information and that was after May 26, 1950, but it doesn't mean she was still there in 1951. She was about 75 years old so could have died shortly after Herman, gone to live with a child, or even remarried. She wasn't in the 1953 city directory for Franklin. A death listing hasn't been found, but hopefully Herman has a headstone and she will be on it. Notes on Jennie's Name: Her 1906 marriage to Jordan is where all the records start getting wacky, starting with Jennie being listed as Jennie E. Smith, born in Guildhall, VT with father as James Smith of Canada. There is no record of a Jennie Smith born in Guildhall or a record of a James Smith. There is no record of Jennie marrying a Smith between Walker and Jordan. Her mother's maiden name was Smith. All of her children's records list their mother as Jennie E. Smith and born mostly in Guildhall, VT but some listed Groveton, NH. Except for son Henry's 2nd marriage where he actually listed his mother as Jennie E. Kettle. This is the one key that ties it all back to her beginnings. It appears that for some unknown reason when she married Herman Jordan she changed her name, birthplace, and her father's name. We won't ever know why but two quick possibilities are that... one: that her parents had died recently and she was escaping their debtors; or two: James Walker wanted custody of his son, Henry. (James drowned himself just 4 years later, despondent over the death of his wife Elizabeth).
