Mrs. Wilson was one of the pioneer residents of this city and an active worker in Christ Methodist Episcopal church and Women's Relief Corps of which she was a past president. She was born at Chelsea, Iowa, on July 4th, 1865, a daughter of Edmund and Nancy Vickery and was at the time of her death, aged 67 years, 5 months and 18 days. She was educated at Walcott, New York and for many years taught in the rural schools in Tama county. At Chelsea, Iowa, on December 31, 1884 she was united in marriage to David A. Wilson, and they were the parents of eleven children, two of whom died in infancy. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. H. C. Loutenhelser of Guttenberg, Nebraska; Bart E. Wilson of Alexandria, Louisiana; Mrs. Lloyd Nichols of Hart, Michigan; Mrs. Charles Benesh of Cedar Rapids; Robert Wilson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Mrs. Mark Flanders of Waterloo; David Wilson of Gary, Indiana; Carl J. Wilson of Chicago and Mrs. Fred Smart of Cedar Rapids. Besides the husband, children and her nineteen grandchildren, she leaves one sister, Mrs. Will Veit of Chelsea and one brother, A. Vickery of Marshalltown. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, the Rev T. N. Nielsen at the Methodist Episcopal church on Monday afternoon and burial was in the Rector Cemetery near Chelsea, beside her children who had preceded her in death. Those coming from outside the city for the funeral services were David Wilson of Gary, Indiana; Carl Wilson of Chicago; Mrs. Chas. Benesh and little son of Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smart of Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Will Veit and family of Chelsea. Mr. A. Vickery of Marshalltown and Mr. Martins of Chicago, Illinois, and many friends of the Chelsea and Toledo communities.
