Hootman was born in Milford township, Defiance county, Ohio, June 6, 1865, and departed this life Jan. 28, 1915, aged 49 years 5 months 22 days. June 28, 1883, she was united in marriage to James P. Arrants and to this union were born 7 children. Two of these preceded the mother and father in death, the latter passing away in Sept. 1897, leaving the mother to struggle alone to rear her young offspring. Hootman was born in Milford township, Defiance county, Ohio, June 6, 1865, and departed this life Jan. 28, 1915, aged 49 years 5 months 22 days. June 28, 1883, she was united in marriage to James P. Arrants and to this union were born 7 children. Two of these preceded the mother and father in death, the latter passing away in Sept. 1897, leaving the mother to struggle alone to rear her young offspring. In the spring of 1912 she moved her family to Hicksville and made that her residence until her death. Since 1913 she was a constant sufferer from rheumatism but always looked on the bright side of life. In the winter of 1914 she transferred her church membership from West Milford Christian church, to the Hicksville Christian church. Four sons, one daughter, five, grandchildren, mother, five sisters and one brother survive her together with other relatives and numerous friends. Funeral services were conducted from the First Christian church Saturday, by Pastor J. O. Rose. The children have the heartfelt sympathy of the whole community in their bereavement, as they have lost the best friend ever given in this life.
