The funeral of Mrs. Jennie Finley, who died yesterday morning, will be held at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning at the residence, 110 Second avenue west, Rev. Starr of Marion will officiate and the interment will be in Oak Shade cemetery, Marion Wednesday May 21, 1913 Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette Rev. L.M. Starr conducted the funeral of Mrs. Jennie Finley at Cedar Rapids this morning. The remains were brought to Marion for interment in Oak Shade cemetery. Friday May 23, 1913 the Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette Marion News Obituary of Mrs. Jennie Finley. Jennie Gill Finley was born in Marion, Iowa, on the 24th of September, 1870, and lived here all her life except the last three years, during which she resided in Cedar Rapids. In 1889 she was united in marriage to Mr. Thomas Finley and to this union one daughter was born. She was a member of the Christian church of Marion, having united with the church in early life. After a few years of failing health and some months of serious sickness she fell asleep to this world on the morning of May 19, 1913, after a life of 42 years, 5 months and 27 days. She leaves to mourn her departure her daughter Cora, to whom she was a kind and faithful mother, also her mother, Mrs. J.A. Gill and a sister, Mrs. Henry Farren, both of Chicago, two brothers, Chas. Gill of Deerlodge, Mont., and Frank Gill of Springville, Iowa, besides other relatives and friends. Jennie married Thomas Finley, son of John and Emma McBride Finley/Finlay on Feb. 21, 1887 in Cedar Rapids. A divorce petition was listed in June 1895. *Jennie and Thomas' daughter, Cora-born 1/8/1894- married Edward K. Lyman and they lived in Chicago and eventually in California, where she died 2/7/1950.
