Description	:	Jennie H. Winch, age 97, of Hopkinton, died Thursday evening, June 2, 2005 at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 11:00 Monday morning, June 6, 2005 at the First United Church of Hopkinton. Burial will be in the Buck Creek Cemetery rural Hopkinton. Rev. Marti Montovani will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 2 until 4 Sunday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Hopkinton. She was preceded in death by her Parents, a brother Henry and 4 sisters, Gretchen Allen, Mary LeClere, Ethel Marugg and Ina Sackett. Jennie Helena Winch was born, September 20, 1907 at Buck Creek, Iowa. She was the daughter of Martin and Lucy Squires Winch. She graduated from the Buck Creek High School and later attended Lenox College in Hopkinton. Jennie later graduated from Upper Iowa University at Fayette. Jennie taught for 33 years in the Monticello and Hopkinton Schools. She retired in 1965. Jennie was an active member of the Hopkinton Methodist Church. She had also served on the Hopkinton Library Board, the Clio Club, the Tiny House and the Lenox College Alumni Committee. During Civil War Days she enjoyed demonstrating her tatting and quilting techniques. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers and cats. Jennie enjoyed giving tours of the Lenox Campus to the many grade school students.
